Student, violist, chamber musician. Alex Wen, without a middle name, grew up in sunny southern California. He’d also like to move far away from here. Eventually.
Now a senior at Azusa Pacific University, he studies at the School of Music as a viola performance major with Robert Becker and as an avid enthusiast of chamber music, he is a part of a string quartet. Outside of his instrumental studies, APU’s Men’s Chorale has been a big part of his years at the University as well as his verve for conducting, having the opportunity to lead the APU Wind Ensemble in a couple performances now.
With a fondness for global travels, Alex also keeps a travel journal blog. Other hobbies include tennis, writing tech manuals at his desk job, training and running a marathon (only one down, so far), and yes, pulling that horse hair on the cat gut (Without the Russian accent: playing a string instrument).
